Martinsburg, W.Va. – With an action-packed lineup already in place, The Martinsburg Foundation is proud to announce the addition of the Air Force’s premier 5th generation fighter aircraft. The F-22 Raptor’s combination of stealth, supercruise and extreme maneuverability will make this demonstration an unforgettable one.
Executive Director Nic Diehl said that the F-22 is “the most advanced air fighter in the world, and the demo that spectators can anticipate will be nothing short of awesome.”
The F-22 Raptor demo will include the power loop, tail slide, split and high-speed pass – all based on combat maneuvers, but are performed at a much lower altitude for air shows. It’s sleek aerodynamic design allows the F-22 to “supercruise” at 1.5 times the speed of sound and it’s twin engines produce more thrust than any other fighter.
Pairing those features with unique thrust vectoring and advanced flight controls means it outmaneuvers other aircraft. According to the F-22 Raptor fact sheet, this “fifth-generation fighter incorporating fourth-generation stealth technology, radical maneuvering capabilities, the ability to fly at supersonic speed without afterburners and unprecedented pilot situational awareness, making it the most dominant and advanced air superiority fighter in the world.”
For those who are interested in sponsoring West Virginia’s Greatest Airshow, they can anticipate unprecedented exposure for their brand with the addition of the Air Combat Command’s full demo team. Corporate and hospitality sponsorship opportunities are available via the website at wvairshow.com
